What Calorie Calculator 24 does

Calorie Calculator 24 estimates a daily calorie target for weight loss from your age, sex, height, weight, activity level and selected weight-loss pace. It also shows estimated maintenance calories, the daily calorie deficit and expected weekly progress.

How the estimate is calculated

The calculator first estimates basal metabolic rate (BMR) using the Mifflin–St Jeor formula. It then applies the activity multiplier you select to estimate total daily energy expenditure (TDEE), often called maintenance calories.

Your selected weight-loss pace is converted into an estimated daily calorie deficit. The current calculator uses approximate energy equivalents of 7,700 kcal per kilogram and 3,500 kcal per pound for those deficit estimates.

Built-in target limits

The calculator currently applies minimum displayed calorie targets of 1,200 kcal/day for the female option and 1,500 kcal/day for the male option. These are calculator guardrails, not individualized medical recommendations.

Calorie needs vary substantially between people. The result is an estimate and a starting point, not a prescription.

Accuracy and limitations

No formula can know your exact daily energy expenditure from a few inputs. Muscle mass, body composition, daily movement, sleep, stress, training, health conditions and other factors can all affect real calorie needs.

The activity multipliers and projected weight-loss rates are estimates. Real changes in body weight do not always follow a perfectly linear calorie-to-weight relationship.

Health disclaimer

Calorie Calculator 24 is provided for general informational purposes and is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, are under medical supervision, or have a history of disordered eating, an individualized plan from a qualified health professional may be more appropriate.
